TEMECULA -- On Thursday, Nov. 9, the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Border Communication Center received a 9-1-1 phone call at approximately 11:53 a.m., regarding a possible body lying in the brush on the right shoulder of Rainbow Canyon Road just north of Rainbow Valley Blvd. CHP officers responded to the scene and located a deceased Hispanic male, approximately 65-75 years of age, lying in the brush area of the right shoulder of Rainbow Canyon Road.Based on the preliminary investigation, the male pedestrian suffered fatal injuries caused by a vehicle, which appears to be a higher profile vehicle, such as a raised pickup truck, SUV, or van.
