Algae harvester plan coming to Lake Elsinore in the near future

Lake Elsinore for many years has been plagued by large toxic blue green algae blooms. There are continuing efforts to reduce those troubling blooms with some success.In a recent Lake Elsinore and San Jacinto Watersheds Authority summit, a representative from AECOM, a design and engineering firm specializing in urban planning and asset management, suggested a method of harvesting those blooms that would help clean the lake and make a profit at the same time.The representative, Daniel Levy, vice president and founder of AECOM’s algae practice, explained Lake Elsinore is an ideal site for an innovative way to harvest those troubling harmful algae blooms.
