EMWD breaks ground on a $32 million Groundwater Treatment Facility in San Jacinto

Eastern Municipal Water District broke ground on a huge $32 million groundwater treatment facility in San Jacinto on the northwest corner of Hewitt and Evans streets on July 2 with many dignitaries present.EMWD General Manager Joe Mouawad said the facility will be “an integral part of our water resource replenishment program that will allow reliable, sustainable water for those who come in the future.”He explained its arrival is vital in the time of climate change and provides a way to save this valuable resource. The project, which will be completed by 2026, will supply more than 11,000 acre feet of clean and safe water per year – enough for more than 25,000 households annually.The project will further support EMWD’s continually expanding groundwater program, according
