Man beaten to death alongside highway near Hemet

HEMET (CNS) - A 42-year-old man was fatally assaulted just west of Hemet, and the suspect was at large Thursday, Sept. 3. Jabulani Mensa Robinson of Homeland was killed about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday alongside Highway 74, near Highway 79, in an unincorporated community known as Green Acres, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. Sgt. Rick Espinoza said patrol deputies were called to the location to investigate reports of a man down and found Robinson unconscious, ``suffering from injuries sustained during an altercation.'' He died at the scene. The suspect who inflicted the fatal injuries fled and has not been identified, according to Espinoza, and there was no word on what might have triggered the altercation.
