Evening Update: Pauba Fire 98% Contained

7/13/24 EVENING UPDATE: Containment has reached 98%.  The Evacuation Order has been downgraded to an Evacuation Warning for RVC-2273.  The previous Evacuation Warnings remain in place.

 

The Pauba Fire, which erupted at Pauba Road and Temecula Parkway on July 12, has burned 101 acres and is now 50% contained, according to Cal Fire. Numerous firefighting air tankers from throughout the state are flying fire suppression missions as conditions allow.

Resources Assigned:

  • Personnel: 150
  • Helicopters: 2
  • Engines: 24
  • Dozers: 2
  • Water Tenders: 2
  • Crews: 7

Firefighters worked diligently throughout the night to build containment lines around the fire. Fire resources will remain on the scene today, extinguishing hot spots and reinforcing containment.

Updated Status: As of 5:54 p.m., the Evacuation Order for RVC-2273 has been downgraded to an Evacuation Warning. The previous Evacuation Warnings remain in place.

Cal Fire reported that as of 4 p.m., the Pauba Fire has burned 102 acres with 0% containment.

Earlier updates indicated the fire had burned 50 acres by 3 p.m., and 20 acres by 2 p.m. The fire was first reported at 1:31 p.m. on July 12.

Authorities continue to urge residents to stay informed and adhere to evacuation orders and warnings as firefighting efforts continue. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

4pm UPDATE: According to Cal Fire, the Pauba Fire has burned 102 acres and is still 0% containment.

3pm UPDATE: Fire is now 50 acres.

At 1:31 pm today, July 12, a fire was reported at Pauba Rd and Temecula Pkwy. As of 2pm Cal Fire is reporting 20 acres burned. There are multiple units including Air Tactical units. More information will be reported as it is available.
