RCWD approves new rates

The Rancho California Water District has approved a multi-year rate increase.A 7-0 RCWD board vote June 20 approved the rates. The authorization covers four rate increases with one effective July 1 before a transition from fiscal year to calendar year for 2025, 2026, and 2027 rate increases.All RCWD customers are either in the Rancho Division or in the Santa Rosa Division. The Santa Rosa Division has less access to local supply, so rates in that division are higher. Various factors will affect the rate increases for specific accounts; on average the rates for Rancho Division residential users will increase by 4.0 percent July 1 with another 1.8 percent increase effective January 1, 2025, an increase of 8.0 percent taking effect January 1, 2026, and another 7.7 percent increase as o
