Anza residents should make plans to evacuate in case of a wildland fire

The Highland Fire scorched 2,487 acres in Aguanga in 2023, forcing the evacuation of people and animals in its path. From its start Monday, Oct. 30 to full containment eight days later, this fire caused panic and confusion for many residents, necessitating split second decisions about what could be saved and what must be left behind. The flames ultimately devoured 13 structures, destroying property and shattering lives.
