Menifee City Council upholds planning commission’s approval of new hotel despite appeal

An appeal against the Menifee Planning Commission's approval of a 106-room, four-story hotel by CARE CA was presented to the Menifee City Council on Wednesday, August 7, during a public hearing. Attorneys representing CARE CA in the appeal urged the City Council to overrule the Planning Commission's approval of the Hilton Hotel project, arguing that it would pose a public health hazard to the surrounding community if built without further study. The hotel is planned for the Menifee Village downtown area, just east of Interstate 215, west of Antelope Road, south of Newport Road, and north of La Piedra Road.
