Hemet 4WD Club explores Thomas Mountain

Hemet 4WD Club four-wheeling enthusiasts were treated to a day of perfect weather as they made their way up the 6S13 Thomas Mountain trail, a 16-mile route with scenic views of Garner Valley, Anza Valley, the San Jacinto Mountains and Cahuilla Mountain Saturday, Feb. 8. The trail featured various types of sand, rocks and a few rutted out areas from the recent rains.There were 11 vehicles in attendance led by club founder Don Gold, ranging from a 46-year-old Jeep CJ5 all the way up to modern Jeeps, 4x4 SUVs and full-sized trucks. Trail bosses Jerry and Beth Mahan, Jason and Lisa Bermudez, Joseph Bermudez, Adrian Lopez and Bob Sandvik were at the ready in case anyone needed assistance.A short break was held at the yellow post campground near the top of the mountain, where members min
