In 2024, the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (RCAHT) began investigating a human trafficking incident that was reported through an anonymous tip. After an extensive investigation, RCAHT identified the suspects as 38-year-old Eldra Reese and 21-year-old Janin Wohlwend, both residents of Corona. On Thursday, February 27, 2025, with the assistance of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force, a search warrant was served at the suspects’ residence on the 1900 block of Aztec Circle in Corona.

Reese was arrested and booked for felony charges consisting of human trafficking, pimping, pandering, and conspiracy to commit a felony. Wohlwend was arrested and booked for pimping, pandering, and conspiracy to commit a felony. During the service of the search warrant, several potential victims were located at the residence.

The investigation revealed at least nine potential victims. However, only four have been located and interviewed at this time. The Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force is asking anyone with additional information to contact RCAHT Task Force Deputy Baron at (760) 836–1600 or call anonymously at (760) 341-STOP (7867) and reference incident # R24 003 0002.

The Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force was formed in 2010 to address crimes involving the exploitation of victims via force, fraud, or coercion. These cases often involve the commercial sex trafficking of children, as well as incidents of forced labor, indentured servitude, debt bondage, or slavery. The RCAHT Task Force is a multidisciplinary task force that combines the investigative resources of both local and federal law enforcement agencies. The RCAHT Task Force also provides victim services and education/outreach through partnerships with various local organizations such as the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center, REACH, and Rebirth Homes. The law enforcement component of RCAHT is currently composed of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigations, and Homeland Security Investigations.
