Anza’s Sacred Heart Catholic Church will host a live Easter Passion play for the church’s parishioners, visitors and friends Saturday, April 19. The performance will reenact the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, played by role players from Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Desert Hot Springs.A Passion play is a dramatic presentation depicting the Passion of Jesus Christ, including his trial, suffering and death. These performances originated in Europe during the Middle Ages to teach people about Christianity.
