Although Black & Veatch has the overall Eastern Municipal Water District design contract for modifications to Eastern’s Simpson and Patterson Booster Pump Station the pre-packaged pump stations themselves require specialty design work, and on April 2 the EMWD board gave EFI-Solutions the design contract for that activity.The 5-0 vote approved a contract with EFI-Solutions, which is based in Illinois, for the work. The $2,598,726 contract also includes procuring the two pump stations.The Simpson and Patterson Booster Pump Station was originally designed and constructed to convey 42 million gallons per day (mgd) of water from the 1627 Pressure Zone to the East Valley 1719 Pressure Zone.
