Two Hospitalized After Car-to-Car Shooting in Temecula; Investigation Ongoing

TEMECULA — Two people were hospitalized Monday following a car-to-car shooting at a busy Temecula intersection, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies responded just after 5:15 p.m. to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon near Temecula Parkway, between Redhawk Parkway and Margarita Road. Witnesses reported seeing a man exit one vehicle and fire into another before both vehicles fled the scene, Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez said.

A short time later, two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds arrived at a local hospital, Brito-Gonzalez confirmed. Their names and conditions have not been released.

Authorities believe the shooting was an isolated incident. As of 7:30 p.m., a section of Redhawk Parkway remained closed between Via Rio Temecula and Temecula Parkway while investigators processed the scene. Drivers were urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

The investigation is ongoing.
