The Rancho California Water District will be purchasing a 10.01-acre property in the 35700 block of Belle Chaine Loop.The RCWD board voted 6-0 May 8, with John Rossi absent, approved the purchase of the property for $1,450,000 while authorizing RCWD general manager Jason Martin to sign the necessary documents and to accept the grant deed at the close of escrow. The property is being acquired to construct recharge basins and new wells as part of the Mid-Pauba Groundwater Banking project.During wet years, the Mid-Pauba Groundwater Banking project will provide approximately 5,000 acre-feet of excess imported water to recharge the Pauba Valley groundwater sub-unit.
