Girl Scouts honor fallen heroes with flag display at Cottonwood School

Local Girl Scouts paid tribute to fallen service members ahead of Memorial Day by placing 130 American flags on the front lawn of Cottonwood School on Thursday, May 22.Members of Aguanga Girl Scout Troop 304, led by troop leader Trina Ziegler-de Cardona, carefully arranged the flags in a solemn display of remembrance. The tribute served as a visible reminder of the meaning behind Memorial Day, a federal holiday observed on the last Monday in May to honor U.S. military personnel who died in service to their country.The display gave the girls an opportunity to reflect on the significance of Memorial Day and recognize the sacrifices made by those in uniform.The flag placement took place on the campus of Cottonwood Sc
