A wildfire sparked Monday afternoon in unincorporated Perris is burning at a moderate rate in dry grass and brush, according to the CAL FIRE Riverside Unit.

Named the Juniper Fire, the blaze began near Idaleona Road and Juniper Road and has scorched approximately 15 acres as of 1:00 p.m. Containment remains at 0%, and the cause is under investigation.

Firefighters are actively working to suppress the flames, with additional ground and air resources en route to the scene. The fire is currently being fought under unified command by CAL FIRE.

No structures have been reported as threatened, damaged, or destroyed, and there have been no injuries or fatalities among civilians or fire personnel.

The fire is burning in a rural area of Riverside County, where dry conditions have heightened fire risk in recent weeks.

Residents in the area are urged to remain alert and follow any instructions issued by local emergency services.
