Family Seeks Public’s Help in Locating Missing 14-Year-Old Lily Bennett
A JOLLA RESERVATION — The family of 14-year-old Lily Bennett is pleading for the public’s assistance in locating her after she went missing late Monday night from her grandmother’s home on the La Jolla Reservation.
According to her stepmother, Krista Denmark, Bennett went to bed at approximately 9 p.m. Her grandmother later discovered her missing around 11 p.m., with her bedroom window open.
“Her last known location was in San Diego at a smoke shop near the border,” Denmark said. “Her best friend was tracking her location and asked her, ‘What the heck are you doing?’ Then her phone either died or she turned it off.”
Family members believe Bennett may be in the company of an unidentified man in his 20s, who is reportedly wanted in connection with a murder charge. A photograph of the man has been circulated on social media, and the family urges anyone who sees him to call 911 immediately.
“We just want our little Lily home,” Denmark said. “Please contact us if you have any information that may help us find her.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact family members Lonie N. Edwards, Sage Bennett or Sherry Miner, or call 911.
Photos of Lily Bennett and the person of interest are available through the family’s public social media posts.
