Evacuations ordered near Lake ELsinore after Crump Fire ignites
A wildfire dubbed the Crump Fire broke out Saturday afternoon near Riverside Street and Highway 74 West, prompting evacuation orders and deployment of air and ground resources.
The blaze was first reported shortly after 12:30 p.m.on Sept. 6, in the unincorporated Meadowbrook–Lake Elsinore area, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. Early estimates placed the fire at about 2 acres, with smoke showing a moderate rate of spread, however it has grown to 50 acres as of 2:30 with zero containment.
Evacuation orders were immediately issued for designated zones LSN-1407 and RVC-1408. Authorities urged residents in those areas to monitor updates via local emergency notification systems.
