
San Jacinto Unified School District proudly announces that San Jacinto Leadership Academy cadet Uzziel Uriarte Ledezma has been awarded a prestigious QuestBridge full-ride scholarship to Columbia University. Uriarte Ledezma, who also serves as the SJLA student board representative, earned the highly competitive scholarship through his academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to service.
QuestBridge is a national nonprofit organization that connects high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds with leading colleges and universities. The QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship provides full funding for four years, covering tuition, housing, meals, books, and other expenses. Columbia University is among the nation’s most selective institutions and is a QuestBridge partner school.
Uriarte Ledezma has demonstrated strong leadership at San Jacinto Leadership Academy while maintaining high academic standards. His involvement in school and community activities reflects his dedication to personal growth and to serving others. School officials noted that his achievement represents years of hard work and perseverance.
Uriarte Ledezma plans to begin his studies at Columbia University in the fall of 2026, joining a select group of QuestBridge Scholars nationwide.
