MURRIETA, Calif. —
The California Highway Patrol is investigating a multi-vehicle traffic collision that occurred early Saturday morning on Interstate 215, leaving at least one vehicle severely damaged and forcing a temporary halt to traffic.
The incident was first reported at approximately 1:05 a.m. on the northbound I-215, just north of Scott Road. According to CHP dispatch logs, the crash involved at least three vehicles, including a silver sedan and a Chevrolet.
Scene Details and Response
Responding units from Murrieta Fire & Rescue and the California Highway Patrol arrived to find vehicles positioned across the center divider and the right-hand shoulder. One vehicle was reported facing the wrong way on the right shoulder.
Debris was scattered across several lanes, including the southbound side of the freeway, which caused additional hazards for passing motorists. At approximately 1:15 a.m., officers on the scene requested a temporary stop of all northbound lanes to facilitate the removal of debris and the clearing of the roadway.

A silver Honda Civic being loaded onto a flatbed tow truck with major damage to the rear passenger-side wheel assembly.
Investigation and Towing
Authorities requested three tow trucks to the location to remove the disabled vehicles. Brothers Towing was among the companies dispatched to the scene.
While the CHP incident log categorized the event as a “Traffic Collision-Unknown Injury,” officials have not yet released a formal statement regarding the medical status of the occupants involved.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
