Cypress Soaring receives new Hemet-Ryan Airport lease

The County of Riverside approved a new ground lease at Hemet-Ryan Airport for Cypress Soaring, Inc.The new lease was approved on a 5-0 vote during the January 27 Riverside County Board of Supervisors meeting. The lease is for a ten-year period and expands the previous lease area from 20,000 to approximately 26,500 square feet.The Cypress Soaring Glider Club was established in 1969 at Cypress Community College in Orange County but utilizes Hemet‑Ryan Airport for its sailplane and glider operations. In August 2022 the Board of Supervisors approved the initial lease with Cypress Soaring, Inc., which was for a three-year period.
