An overturned 27-foot travel trailer prompted a SigAlert and blocked multiple lanes on northbound Interstate 215 near Clinton Keith Road late Wednesday morning, leaving those involved with unknown injuries.
The collision was reported at approximately 11:38 a.m. Initial logs indicate a vehicle towing the travel trailer—variously described by witnesses as a gray Chevrolet Tahoe or a blue truck—was cut off by an unknown vehicle. The evasive maneuver or subsequent impact caused the trailer to flip onto its side while remaining attached to the towing vehicle. Authorities are investigating the incident as a possible non-contact hit-and-run.
The Murrieta Fire Department was dispatched to the scene following reports of a potential propane leak stemming from the overturned camping trailer. Emergency responders blocked the No. 2 and No. 3 lanes to manage the scene and secure the hazard.
The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert just before noon as a tow truck was called in to right the flipped trailer. Crews successfully cleared the roadway, and all lanes were reopened to traffic by 12:27 p.m.
