By Robert CarterHEMET — Firefighters responded to a commercial structure fire late March 31 in the 200 block of North San Jacinto Street, according to authorities.
The incident was reported at 11:57 p.m. at the Bright Smile Dental office, where the Hemet fire chief observed black smoke coming from the roof. The building appeared to be vacant.
Fire crews initiated roof operations after determining the fire was coming from the attic area. A battalion chief requested additional resources, including four engines from Cal Fire, another battalion chief, one AMR unit and breathing support.
Firefighters also forced entry into an adjacent furniture store to check for fire extension and ventilate smoke
