Dorland Mountain Arts will welcome the community Sunday, Oct. 4, from 1 to 3 p.m. for “Art in Motion!,” its second annual open house celebrating the arrival of autumn with art, music and an opportunity to experience the unique creative community at Dorland.
The event is presented in partnership with the Parkinson’s Association of San Diego and will feature an art exhibit and sale showcasing work created by local artists and others affected by Parkinson’s disease.
The afternoon will begin with “Mingle and Music” at 1 p.m., featuring drinks, gourmet finger foods and music performed by members of the Temecula Valley Youth Symphony. Guests will have an opportunity to meet the artists and mingle with fellow community members.
At 1:30 p.m., Katinka Clementsmith will give a brief presentation about the Parkinson’s Association. Dorland Community Program Coordinator Noreen Ring will also provide information about Dorland and its Residency and Associate Artist programs.
From 2 to 3 p.m., guests can meet and greet the artists, purchase exhibited artwork and additional fine art by community artists, and visit resident artists in their cottages. Visitors are also invited to stroll the grounds and take in the surrounding views.
“Art in Motion!” offers the community a relaxed afternoon to enjoy art, music and fellowship while learning more about the artists and programs that make Dorland Mountain Arts a special part of the local creative community.
