The Hemet City Council declared a city-owned property in the 3700 block of Industrial Avenue to be surplus.A 4-0 vote May 12, with Tom Lodge absent, adopted a resolution declaring the 10.00-acre parcel to be surplus land. The declaration does not convey the land to any entity but allows the city and interested parties to negotiate a real property transaction.The city is exploring disposition options for the Industrial Avenue property along with the adjacent city-owned land at the northwest corner of Stetson Avenue and Sanderson Avenue which has already been declared surplus. A commercial shopping center is expected.“We intend for these to be developed as commercial projects,” said city attorney Steven Graham.The eastern third of the “city yard” on Industrial Avenue
