Two-year-old fillies Strident Miss and Less Please were both sired by Pavel, and they were both foaled at Ocean Breeze Ranch in Bonsall, and they both train at the San Luis Rey Training Center. They also both made their racing debuts July 17, which was Opening Day for the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club summer meet, and were both in the fifth race, which was for California-bred two-year-old fillies who had not previously won a race. Strident Miss won that five-furlong dirt race by a nose over Less Please, who finished 1 1/2 lengths ahead of third-place Sauced Up.“It was so close.
