County Planning Commission recommends converting Winchester commercial area to 148 houses
The County of Riverside’s Planning Commission has recommended that a 16.5-acre site in a Winchester specific plan area be converted from commercial retail use to 148 single-family residential lots.The Planning Commission’s 5-0 vote July 22 recommended that the Riverside County Board of Supervisors approve a general plan amendment and specific plan amendment to change the land use designation of the 16.5-acre site from Community Development: Commercial Retail (CD:CR) to 9.5-acres of Community Development: Medium High Density Residential (CD:MHDR) and 6.5-acres of Community Development: High Density Residential (CD:HDR) with the other 0.5 acres being used for roads and walkways.
