Sauro wins overall race at D38 Grand Prix at Glen Helen; Gentry, Griffin, Pellanda, Van Horn win classes

Menifee rider Bill Sauro won his overall race at the American Motorcyclist Association’s District 38 Grand Prix which was held August 16 at Glen Helen Raceway, and four other area riders also won their classes.The first race of the day combined the 86-200 cc, women’s, Masters (60 or older), and Super Senior (50 or older) expert, amateur, novice, and beginner racers. Sauro won the Super Senior Expert class as well as the overall race with a time of 50:38 for his ten laps. Two Fallbrook racers won their class in that competition although neither completed ten laps before all riders on the lead lap were given the checkered flag. Devin Van Horn was the fastest 200 Amateur rider and was 14th overall with a nine-lap time of 53:03. Evan Pellanda was the 27th overall finisher and the first
