Following the first two wins of the 2026 season for the Great Oak High School field hockey team, the Wolfpack traveled to San Diego for a September 2 game against Canyon Hills. The Rattlers scored two goals in each of the first three periods before scoring three times in the final quarter for a 9-0 victory.“This is going to prepare us for the likes of Edison and Huntington Beach, and if we start those teams hesitant like we did today, we’re going to be playing catch-up for the rest of the game,” said Great Oak coach Katie Gerfen.Last year Canyon Hills was a finalist in the CIF San Diego Section’s Open Division playoffs.
