Carl Key, 101, died Sept. 15, 2026. He was a WWII medic, aviation enthusiast, entrepreneur in many areas and Temecula Wine pioneer, the founder of Keyways, one of the first three wineries in the valley. To celebrate Key’s 100th birthday last year, the now Somerset Winery produced the Carl Key Fountain of Youth wine, bottled with the Keyways emblem on the label. At his request, there will be no services.
