Temecula City Council awards contract for Great Oak Trail lighting

The City of Temecula awarded a construction contract for the Great Oak Trail Lighting Project.The Temecula City Council voted 5-0 on September 22 to award a $227,000 contract to the Santa Ana company Vido Samarzich, Inc., for the bicycle lane and trail lighting project. The city manager was authorized to approve change orders cumulatively of up to $75,000, and the city council also made a finding that the Great Oak Trail Lighting Project qualifies as a safety improvement and is therefore exempt from Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan fees.The project will install 75 solar-powered lights along the Great Oak Trail adjacent to the northeast side of Pechanga Parkway from Deer Hollow Way to Loma Linda Road, which is a distance of approximately 1.70 miles or 8,976 feet.
