Firefighters stop Aloha Fire at 1.2 acres

Firefighters stopped a vegetation fire at 1.2 acres Wednesday, Sept. 30, after it threatened structures near San Jacinto Avenue and Aloha Road in Perris. It was dubbed the Aloha Fire.CAL FIRE responded to the blaze at about 3:58 p.m. Crews initially reported 1 to 2 acres burning in light grass and brush, with winds pushing the flames east toward structures. Firefighters estimated the fire had the potential to grow to 50 acres.The threat to structures was mitigated by 4:16 p.m., and firefighters stopped the fire’s forward progress at 4:29 p.m.Crews remained at the scene to extinguish hot spots and conduct mop-up operations.
