Winchester drainage project receives $468,800 in county funding

Riverside County will provide $468,800 in Unincorporated Communities Initiative funding for drainage improvements in Winchester.The Riverside County Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 Sept. 22 to allocate the funding to the county’s Transportation and Land Management Agency for Winchester Line A channel improvements. The supervisors also formally approved the drainage project.The improvements will extend from Olive Avenue to the Salt Creek Channel and are intended to provide regional flood protection for the planned Winchester Hills Sports Park and the surrounding area.Winchester Line A was identified as a regional drainage channel in the Winchester Hills Community Facilities District master drainage plan, which was approved in March 2006.The Transportation and Land Managemen
