De Portola Wine Trail’s Harvest Fest leads fun week in wine country

There will be plenty of wine to taste during the De Portola Wine Trail Harvest Fest Sunday, Nov. 3, at 10 participating wineries including Leoness Cellars. Jeff Pack photo

The fall season is one of the best times to visit Temecula Wine Country, and this weekend, wine lovers are encouraged to take the road less traveled to enjoy the De Portola Wine Trail Harvest Fest from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3.

Located on the southwestern side of wine country, the pace is a little slower and drivers are even likely to be required to give way to a horse or two meandering down a path.

Ten wineries will participate, each pouring three varietals with cuisine prepared by their artisan chefs. Sip wine while munching on food specialties and take in some of the best views in wine country.

If guests are lucky, some of the wineries might be tapping barrels and tanks for some fresh tastings.

Participating wineries include Somerset Vineyard and Winery, Fazeli Cellars, Robert Renzoni Vineyards, Gershon Bachus Vintners, Oak Mountain Winery – the Cave Winery, Leoness Cellars, Danza del Sol, Frangipani Winery, Cougar Winery and Masia de la Vinya.

Tickets are available for $79.99, and designated driver tickets are $29, which includes all cuisine, and can be purchased at
