The Temecula Valley Unified School District (TVUSD) approved a Parental Notification Policy last Tuesday, August 22, at their regular school board meeting that will allow parents to be notified if their child starts to identify as anything other than what is on their school record. It could be transidentifying or even a name change. This move follows similar measures adopted by other California school districts, including, but not limited to, Murrieta Unified School District, Anderson School District near Redding, and Chino Valley Unified School District. Other school districts, including Orange Unified School District, are considering the possibility of the policy.
