City officials, project partners, and local cyclists gathered Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, to celebrate the grand opening of the Nicolas Road extension and the debut of the Nicolas Multi-Use Trail in Temecula.The ribbon-cutting ceremonies marked the completion of a major infrastructure milestone that connects Winchester Road to Butterfield Stage Road. Central to the project is the Nicolas Multi-Use Trail, a 1,800-linear-foot Class I bikeway. The 10-foot-wide paved path is completely separated from vehicle traffic, providing a safe corridor for walkers, runners, and cyclists.The multi-use trail is part of the Nicolas Ranch development area in Temecula and is designed to accommodate walkers, runners, and cyclists while improving neighborhood connectivity and outdoor access.
