The Murrieta Police Department is advising motorists to avoid the intersection of Murrieta Hot Springs Road and Alta Murrieta Drive following a traffic collision on Wednesday.
Officers are currently on the scene investigating the crash, which occurred just east of the Interstate 215 freeway. Due to the incident, authorities are reporting significant congestion in the area, particularly near the surrounding commercial centers.
Police have requested that drivers find alternate routes to bypass the traffic buildup.
The number of vehicles involved has not been disclosed.
The investigation is ongoing, and it is not yet known when the area will be fully cleared.
