Vista Fire North of Lake Elsinore Held at 141 Acres, Reaches 25% Containment

Firefighters have achieved 25% containment on the Vista Fire, an active wildfire that has burned 141 acres near El Torro Road, north of Lake Elsinore.

The blaze, which ignited on Friday, April 17, is burning under the administration of the CAL FIRE Riverside Unit. Following an aggressive initial attack from aerial and ground resources, crews successfully halted the fire’s forward progress and are now focused on reinforcing the perimeter.

Early reports indicate one firefighter was involved in an incident on the fireline. Pending a formalized briefing from a recognized Public Information Officer (PIO), the responder is currently being evaluated with injuries of unknown severity. At this time, authorities have not reported any civilian injuries, fatalities, or structural damage.

The exact cause of the wildfire remains under investigation. Fire crews will remain on the scene along El Torro Road through the night to patrol for flare-ups, mop up hot spots, and expand containment lines.
