Patricia Ann Whittle, 89, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, in her home in Anza, California.
Born to humble beginnings in Weir, Kansas August 13, 1936, Patricia was the youngest in a large, blended family. At 19, she began raising her own family in nearby Pittsburg, Kansas, where her first three children – Mark, Craig and Tara Dorsey – were born.
In 1962, she moved to California, where her youngest daughter, Kelly, completed the family.
Patricia built a remarkable career at Beckman Instruments, where her intelligence, ambition and work ethic quickly set her apart. She began as a secretary and became one of the first women in the company to be promoted to departmental manager – an achievement that reflected both her talent and her determination.
After retiring from Beckman in 1991, she embarked on a second career in Anza, working as a bookkeeper, property manager and store owner. She was deeply committed to her community, supporting employees, neighbors, and local efforts with generosity and pride. Her contributions included mentoring local high school students and serving on the board of The Little Red School House.
Patricia is survived by her four children, nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her great grandson, Jarod Mackenzie. In her later years, she found her greatest joy in time spent with her family.
A memorial service will be held at The Little Red School House on Sunday, May 3 at 11:30 a.m.. Community members are warmly invited to join the family in honoring her life.
