Supervisors approve design contract for French Valley Airport traffic control tower

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors approved an architectural design contract for the future air traffic control tower at French Valley Airport.The supervisors’ 5-0 vote March 24 approved a $4,680,990 contract with Pond and Company, which has a San Diego office, for design, bid support services, and construction administration for the air traffic control towers at French Valley Airport and at Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport in Thermal. The action also approved a $2,125,883 scope of services for French Valley Airport and delegated the authority to exercise contract option amendments to the director of the Aviation Department of the county’s Transportation Land Management Agency.French Valley Airport is classified as a general aviation reliever airport, which means that
