Motorcyclist Shot on I-215 in Murrieta; Investigation Continues

A 34-year-old Murrieta man was hospitalized early Thursday morning after being shot in the leg while riding his motorcycle on Interstate 215, according to a press release from the California Highway Patrol. The incident occurred at approximately 12:33 a.m. on the southbound lanes of I-215, just north of Clinton Keith Road. The victim, whose name has not been released, was operating a 2021 grey motorcycle when he was struck by gunfire. Despite being shot in the leg, the man was able to stop his motorcycle on the freeway's shoulder and proceed to a local business to seek help. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance.
