Firefighters contained a vegetation fire that burned 15 acres in a Perris field on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
Crews responded to reports of a vegetation fire near the intersection of Orange Avenue and Perris Boulevard at 2:59 p.m.
Upon arrival, the first responding unit observed approximately one acre of vegetation actively burning at a moderate rate of spread. Firefighters successfully halted the blaze’s forward progression, keeping the burn area contained to 15 acres.
Personnel remained on the scene for approximately three hours following containment to perform mop-up operations and ensure all hot spots were fully extinguished.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
