Two Hospitalized After Vehicle Plunges 50 Feet Down Embankment South of Hemet

Two adults were transported to area hospitals with injuries of unknown severity on Saturday, May 9, after their vehicle careened approximately 50 feet down an embankment in an unincorporated area south of Hemet.

Emergency personnel responded to the single-vehicle traffic collision, which was reported at 9:08 p.m. in the 28000 block of Vista Del Valle.

Upon arrival, first responders located the vehicle off the roadway with two adult occupants inside. Crews determined that one of the individuals required extrication from the wreckage to be safely removed.

Following the rescue effort, both occupants were transported to nearby medical facilities to be treated for injuries of unknown severity. One patient was transported by ground ambulance, while the other was airlifted from the scene by a medical helicopter.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has assumed the investigation into the incident. The cause of the crash, including whether weather, speed, or impairment were factors, has not yet been determined.
