Anza Baptist Church welcomed friends, neighbors and visitors from Anza and surrounding communities Sunday, Aug. 23, for an afternoon of ice cream, music and fellowship.
Guests created their own treats, choosing from cones, banana splits and bowls of ice cream. Pastor Matthew Nevills and his wife, Julie, joined several church volunteers in serving scoops of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream.
The dessert counter offered plenty of options for customization, with attendees adding gummy bears, whipped cream, sprinkles, candy, nuts and syrup to their creations.
The afternoon also featured music led by Pastor Emeritus Robert Reece, who invited the congregation to join in song as he led them with his expert guitar accompaniment. A large contingent of youngsters enthusiastically took center stage, adding a lively touch to the gathering.
The ice cream social provided an opportunity for community members of all ages to enjoy an afternoon together while sharing treats, music and fellowship.
