A commercial storage facility is planned in Murrieta near Adams Avenue and Elm Street. The area is not currently within the boundaries of the Rancho California Water District, the Eastern Municipal Water District, or the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California so annexation into the RCWD, EMWD, and MWD service areas will be required. The annexation was approved by the MWD board on September 15.The MWD action approved conditions for the annexation while authorizing MWD to collect the appropriate property tax and standby charge for the land. The annexation itself will need to be approved by Riverside County’s Local Agency Formation Commission, which may place its own conditions on the annexation.The annexation area is 10.72 acres.
