A 60-year-old Hemet man has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 29-year-old Winchester man.
Riverside County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to reports of a dead person at the intersection of Winchester and Thompson roads at around 6:55 p.m. Thursday, April 25. Upon their arrival, they found Boris Stepanyuk of Winchester suffering from a possible stab wound.
Stepanyuk was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators from the Riverside County Central Homicide Unit, along with assistance from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau and deputies from the Major Crimes Unit, later identified Joseph Mokate as the suspect.
