County waste department to provide free composting and green cleaning classes in Anza

ANZA – The Riverside County Department of Waste Resources will host free backyard composting and green cleaning classes in Anza Saturday, Sept. 28. The classes start at 9 a.m. with the backyard composting class, immediately followed by the green cleaning class at 11 a.m. The classes will be held at the Little Red Schoolhouse, 56481 Highway 371, in Anza.Attend a presentation to learn how to recycle organic resources such as yard trimmings, and fruit and vegetable waste, into a dark, crumbly, sweet-smelling soil conditioner. Compost can be used to enrich the soil in gardens, lawns and house plants.
