Murrieta man who sexually assaulted family member sentenced

MURRIETA (CNS) - A Murrieta man who sexually assaulted an 8-year-old family member pleaded guilty on Friday, Sept. 27 to lewd acts on a child and other offenses and was immediately sentenced to 25 years to life in state prison. Kyle Steven Myers, 33, admitted the lewd acts count and a charge of sexual penetration of a child under 10 years old under a plea agreement with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office. Two related felonies were dismissed in exchange for Myers' admissions. The plea deal was announced just as the case was set for a preliminary hearing at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta. Superior Court Judge John Monterosso certified the terms of the agreement and imposed the sentence stipulated by the prosecution and defense. Myers was arrested in March following
