Big rig overturns on Interstate 15 near Corona, blocking lanes

CORONA (CNS) - A semi tractor-trailer rolled onto its side going southbound on Interstate 15 near Corona Monday, blocking several lanes and leaving the driver with minor injuries. The crash happened about 2:40 p.m. on I-15 at El Cerrito Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. The big rig hauling two trailers jackknifed in the No. 3 lane, completely blocking it and the slow lane. No other vehicles were involved. Southbound traffic was severely snarled after the wreck, prompting the CHP to issue a SigAlert because of the congestion. The trucker remained in the cab of his rig until Riverside County firefighters helped him out, according to the CHP.
