5-acre brush fire near Corona contained Saturday

CORONA (CNS) - Firefighters knocked down a five-acre wildfire that broke out on a hillside in an unincorporated area near Corona today.The fire was reported at 3:15 p.m. near the 4900 block of Green River Road, south of State Route 91, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.The blaze was spreading slowly when firefighters knocked it down, fire officials said. Crews from the Orange County Fire Authority and the Anaheim, Corona and Cleveland National Forest fire departments also responded and were assisted by water-dropping aircraft.
